Obituary
John Robert "Pete" Compton, age 80, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (January 9, 2009) at his residence.
He was born on March 17, 1928, in Breckinridge County KY, the son of the late Robert Ernest and Ethel Laslie Compton. He was a retired saw-miller and was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church at Axtel.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Compton, two sons, Steven Mark and James Franklin Compton both of Leitchfield, one sister, Nora Dodge of Leitchfield and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Joseph Compton and Teresa Darnell.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday (January 12, 2009) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Allen Johnson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Calvert Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
