Obituary

John M. Woolum, age 71, of Falls of Rough, KY, passed away Sunday, (May 5, 2019) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on January 6, 1948 in Gallipolis, Ohio.

He was a truck driver for Golden Hawk Trucking Company. He enjoyed watching criminal and military shows on television and loved his pet cats. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of over ten years, Phyllis Webb Woolum of Falls of Rough; daughter, Stacy Staten of Ohio; two grandchildren; three step-daughters, Stephanie Blanton of Florida, Michelle Shaffer of Elizabethtown and Tina Mills of Shepherdsville; three brothers and three sisters; and twelve step-grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Woolum, Jr.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. (CST) Friday, (May 10, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the KY Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff on Tuesday (May 14, 2019) at 12:00 p.m. (CST). Cremation was chosen.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday.
