Johnathan Dail Meredith, age 54, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (September 30, 2026) at U of L Health Center - Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on November 20, 1971, in Bowling Green, KY.

John was a collector of knives, pocket watches, and Zippo lighters. His great interest was watching any shows pertaining to the military. He was an avid history buff. He adored his family and was a loving caregiver for his wife, Kimberly, who passed away in 2025. John and Kim married on September 20, 2005. Their combined families formed a home for all to meet and enjoy each other’s company.

John is survived by his daughter, Tabytha Meredith of Caneyville and stepchildren, Tiffany Stevenson (Andy Johnson), Morgan Stevenson, and “Lil man” Tyler Wells (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Talon, Raeleigh, Izzy, Ryver and Owen; and his beloved mother-in-law, Brenda Lacefield.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Lacefield Meredith; his father, Roger Meredith; his step-grandson, James Earl Thomas Smiley (Jett); and his grandparents, Nini and Dar Dar.

Cremation was chosen under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service to be announced on later date.
