Obituary

Jordan David Alvey, age 38, of Wax, KY, passed away Tuesday, (December 16, 2025) under Hosparus at his parent's home.

He was born on October 8, 1987 in Horse Cave, KY, the son of David and Lisa Alvey.

Jordan found joy in life's simple moments; fishing, collecting basketball cards, attending concerts, nurturing his plants, and losing himself in music. He had a very meticulous nature and found comfort in order. He also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds battle. His greatest pride was being a daddy to Ryatt; she filled his life with purpose beyond measure.

Jordan faced his battle with stage four Metastatic Adenocarcinoma with remarkable courage and strength. Through it all, he remained positive, never complained and continued to think of others. His quiet bravery will never be forgotten. He is a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Ryatt Dennis; parents, David and Lisa Alvey of Wax; one brother, Ryan Alvey of Wax; one sister, Ariel Alvey of Leitchfield; his beloved girlfriend, Krystal Dennis of Leitchfield; paternal grandmother, Willadean Alvey and one nephew, ORyen Davis. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, who loved him deeply, also survive.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Ozzy Vann Alvey; paternal grandfather, Colbert Alvey; and his maternal grandparents, Hurley and Betty Jane Alvey.

Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, (December 23, 2025) at the St. Benedict Catholic Church. Deacon T.J. Dennison will be officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and at the St. Benedict Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
