Josephine Blanch McCrady Kendrick, age 89, passed away Sunday , (February 8, 2026) in Florida.

She was born on September 16, 1936, in Edmonson County, KY. to the late Rev. J.C. McCrady and Maude Smith McCrady. She was one of 12 children.

Josephine attended Caneyville High School. She and her husband were devoted Boy Scout leaders for more than 40 years. In  recognition of her service. she earned the Silver Beaver Award and the Vigil Honor of the Arrow, along with many other scouting honors. She worked as a school assistant, and was a member  of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Kendrick, Sr. and her children, Debra Yount, Christopher Hunt, Michael Hunt, and Rhonda Hunt Dyer.

She is survived by her son, Gregory Hunt, and her step-children, William T. Kendrick, Jr., Daniel Kendrick, James Kendrick, and Kathleen True; as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

A visitation will be held on February 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at 1373 Memorial Park Road in Jacksonville, Florida, with a Celebration of Life following.

Visitation will also be held at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, (February 21, 2026). A Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the McCrady Cemetery located in the Old Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Jim McCrady will be officiating. Burial will follow.
