Joyce Williams Carroll VanMeter, age 75, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 9, 2016) at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on October 8, 1940 in Jefferson Co., KY, the daughter of the late Roy "Bang" and Leoma Franklin Williams.

She was a housewife and a member of the Sulphur Wells Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Duel VanMeter of Clarkson, three daughters, Pamela Harp of Leitchfield, KY, Frankie Carroll (Tommie) also Leitchfield, Melissa Cole (Gary) of Big Clifty, KY; a step-son, Michael VanMeter (Lisa) of Clarkson; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Beck and Vickie Renfrow both of Clarkson; and two brothers, Billy Williams of Clarkson and Doug Williams of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, (January 13, 2016) at the Sulphur Wells Missionary Baptist Church (Snap). Bro. Chris Cann will be officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at the Sulphur Wells Missionary Baptist Church (Snap) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
