Joyce Lavern Edwards, age 62, of Falls of Rough, KY, passed away Wednesday, (June 3, 2009) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on January 13, 1947, in Butler Co., KY, the daughter of the late Jesse and Lula Belle Mudd Embry. She was a legal secretary, homemaker, a well loved Sunday school teacher and a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Edwards, her son, Doug Edwards (Stacy) of Leitchfield, her daughter, Amy Hayes (Robbie) of Caneyville, KY, her grandchildren, Megan, Tyler and Tanner Edwards, Rylie and Wyatt Hayes, her sister, Lavone Phelps of Morgantown, KY, her brothers, Bill of Leitchfield, Bob of Hudson, FL, and Jody Embry of Caneyville.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. (June 6, 2009) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Doug Edwards will be officiating. Burial will be in the Yeaman Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
