Joyce D. Chambers Pennington, age 65, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away peacefully the early morning of Friday, (October 27, 2023) at her home.

She was born on January 8, 1958 in Leitchfield, KY, the daughter of the late Homer and Etta Lindsey Chambers.

She married Randall Pennington on January 20, 1996, in Leitchfield. Joyce was a member of Broadford Missionary Baptist Church, where she was saved at the age of 14. She retired from the Grayson County Parent-Child Center where she worked for 17+ years. Joyce truly valued time with her family and enjoyed making memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Joyce was not only a loving mother and a devoted wife but a friend, a comforter, and a peaceful mannered person.

She is survived by her husband, Randall; three children, Stacie Clemons (Barron), Katrina Phillips and TJ Vincent; three step-children, Randy Pennington (Kim), Angela Portman and Jesse Pennington (Kacey); ten grandchildren, Dylan Clemons (Kenzie), Logan Phillips, Jasper Lewis, Ashton Kelley, Nate Pennington, Abigail Pennington, Audree Pennington, Reese Pennington, Gracie Portman and Garrett Portman; one great-granchild, Hendrix Clemons; two brothers, Allen Chambers (Clara) and Charles Chambers (Christina); six sisters, Rita Meredith (Hank), Mary Ann Chambers, Linda Williams, Faye Pierce (Owen), Kathy Moutardier (Larry) and Syble Small. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey, Ronnie, and Michael Chambers and one sister, Marilyn Barnes.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (October 31, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Mikie Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
