Juanita "Vera" Rea Whitely Logsdon, age 90, of New Port Richey FL, passed away Saturday, (November 12, 2011) at her residence.
She was born on December 22, 1920, in Breckinridge County, KY, the daughter of the late Denver and Ethel Gertrude Howard Tucker. She was a retired school teacher with Hardinsburg Elementary School, a past member of the Hardinsburg Eastern Star and was a member of the Coyle Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Rae Long (John) of New Port Richey, three grandchildren, Janie Rea Groulx of Calgary, Canada, Jamie Rhea Long of New Port Richey and Jennifer Rose Long of Palm Harbor, FL, her great granddaughter, Noella Rea Terez Groulx, five step-children, Shirley Buckham of Bardstown, KY, Linda Bigelow of Elizabethtown, KY, Buddy Logsdon of Louisville, KY, Paul Ray Logsdon of Cub Run, KY and Billy Ray Logsdon, a step-granddaughter, Tiffany Gaffney and a step great granddaughter, Shelbie Gaffney.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (November 19, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro Jimmy Tucker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Coyle Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
