Junior Ray Sanders, 76 , of Millwood, KY, passed away Monday, (September 07, 2020) at Magnolia Village in Bowling Green, KY.

He was born November 2, 1943 in Anneta, Kentucky the son of Earl and Jessie Sanders.

He was one of 9 siblings including brothers Leon Sanders (Jean), Charles Sanders (Judy), Rocky Sanders (Debbie), Jimmy Sanders (Juanita), and sisters Nelda Wood (Randell), Agnes Duvall (Charles), Delda Downs (Truman), Janette Pierce (Philip).

He retired from Walter T Kelley Beehive Company in Clarkson, KY where he worked until he suffered a heat stroke after 40+ years. He was a farmer all his life which he truly loved and worked from daylight to dark to provide for his family. Once he retired from his own farm, he continued as a pastime for neighbors and friends. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass and gospel music which his father and other family members played.   He liked to attend the Grayson County Opry, Lincoln Jamboree, and other venues listening as often as possible. He liked to do a little picking on the guitar and sing occasionally and always had a knack for dancing.

He is survived by his children Albert Sanders and Misty Blanton (Anthony) both of Millwood, Elizabeth Lewis (David) of Florida, and Christy Oller (Andrew) of Falls of Rough, 13 grandchildren: Corey, Shelby, and Haley Sanders, Brittany Bird, Jordan Bounds, Camron and Kate Lewis, Isaac Dermitt, Abigail Blanton, Madison Sanders, Kayley, Tayler, and Aaron Oller; as well as siblings, Charles of Anneta, Jimmy of Jetson, Agnes of Anneta, and Nelda and Janette of Leitchfield.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Leon and Rocky Sanders and sister Delda Downs, and 2 sons Junior Ray Sanders, and Aaron Sanders.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (September 13, 2020) at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Darrell Snyder and Bro. Joe Watson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery in Millwood, KY.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 am Sunday until time of services.
