Karen Sue Pennington-Tomes, age 55, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (September 15, 2022) at her home on the family farm, where she loved to be.

She was born on November 14, 1966 in Leitchfield, KY, the daughter of Wayne Pennington and Shirley Grant Pennington.

She enjoyed working in her flowers, listening to music, movies, dancing, drawing and reading her Bible. She lived for her babies and grandbabies.  She was a strong woman and was loved by all.  She was a member of Caneyville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Danielle Hayes Lynn, Jordan Tyler Pool, and Lauren Brooke Denner (Billy Denner); father, Wayne Pennington (Brenda) and mother, Shirley Pennington; grandchildren, Cameron Noe, Leigha Pool, Jaxon Pool, Conor Pool, Bryson Denner and Lennon Denner; great-grandchild, Talia Noe; sister, Sheila Pennington; and brother, Kevin Pennington.  Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Ruby Pennington, Robert Grant and Consuelo Horn; and aunts, to whom she was very close, Jennie Wood and Alice Faye Jaggers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (September 22, 2022) at 2:00 p.m. at the Dermitt Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Arndell officiating. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday (September 22, 2022) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
