Katherine Marie Hampton, age 72, of Big Clifty, KY, passed away Monday, (September 18, 2023) at her son's home in Big Clifty.

She was born on August 21, 1951 in Lexington, KY, the daughter of the late David and Katherine Courtney Teeter.

She was a line worker at Leitchfield Plastics and a caretaker to her late husband who enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog, Tipsy. She was a member of the Clarkson Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Hicks (John) of Leitchfield, KY; a son, William "Billy" Hampton III of Big Clifty; six grandchildren, John Allen, Gabby, Willie, Kendra, Savannah & Chance; seven great-grandchildren with another on the way; and a sister, Mary Stone of Lexington. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, William "Pete" Hampton; three brothers and one sister.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen and a Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, (September 24, 2023) at the Clarkson Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Poteet will be officiating.
