Kenneth Edward Rafferty Sr., age 78, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (January 01, 2024) at Signature North Hardin in Radcliff, KY.

He was born on August 11, 1946 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Charles Stewart Rafferty and Mabel Picking Rafferty Stolarz.

A Veteran of the US Marine Corp. he worked as a civil servant at Fort Knox until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, working puzzles, watching the news and was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth Edward Rafferty Jr. (Jennifer) of Robbins, GA, Christopher Scott Rafferty (Angela), Leslie Nicole Downs (David) & Neveah Marie Rafferty, all of Leitchfield; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Morgan, Andrew, & Jack, Brandon & Charlie, and Andrew & Sarah; seven great-grandchildren, Warren, Britton, Bentley, Keaton, Macie, Addie & Kyra; and a sister, Alice Kinney (Larry) of Louisville; . Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Chuck" Rafferty and a sister, Charlene Reeve.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, (January 16, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Daniel Dennis will be officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery Central in Radcliff at a later date.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
