Mr. Larry Ray Newton, 73, of Shepherdsville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Mr. Newton was born July, 24, 1944. He was a United States Army veteran. During the Vietnam War, he received the Purple Heart award. He retired from Ford Motor Company after over 30 years of service.

Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, Arthur Lee Newton, Sr. and Juanita Crawford Newton; sister, Elizabeth Ann Newton and brothers, Arthur Newton, Jr. and Donnie Newton.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Lisa Newton and Teresa Matthews (Shane); grandchildren, Susan (Danny), Kirsten (Brent), Devin, Larry Austin and Bailey Earl; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Dekker, Landen and baby Rose; sisters, Connie Johnson and Roxanne Vincent; brother, Richard "Dickie" Newton (Cathy) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 1pm CST at Dermitt Funeral Home (306 W. Main St., Leitchfield, KY) with burial in Layman Cemetery (Leitchfield, KY).

Friends may pay their respects on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1pm until 8pm EST at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville, KY), on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 11am until 8pm CST at Dermitt Funeral Home and on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 9am until time of services.
