Larry Thomas Riggs, age 74, of Clarkson, passed away Monday, (September 8, 2025) at his residence.

He was born on December 15, 1950 in Upton, KY, the son of the late Claude and Ava Smith Riggs.

Larry was a hardworking, kind, and compassionate man - a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He made his living as an Electrician and in younger days enjoyed fishing and coon hunting. Larry married the love of his life, Linda, on May 18, 1968 and had 57 wonderful years together. They raised three children: Dale, Donna and Brian. He was saved at the age of 19 and became of member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his two children, Donna Goodman (Jeremy) and Brian Riggs (Tina); grandchildren, Chandra Hornback, Jordan and Caleb Riggs; bonus grandchildren, Jessica McKinney (Todd), Jarrett Goodman (Kennedi) and Jenna Goodman; one great-grandson, Jayden Garner; sister, Jeanette Cook; and his sister-in-law, Brenda Riggs. Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Dale Riggs; two brothers, Lillard and Curtis Riggs; and three sisters, Joyce Reeves, Mami Stillwell and Brenda Powell.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, (September 14, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Stanley Wooden will be officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 10:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
