Obituary
Lela Mae Gant-Carroll, age 76, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (August 28, 2008) at her home in Leitchfield.
She was born on January 5, 1932, in Rowletts, in Hart County, the daughter of Clyde and Vera Weatherspoon Matthews. She was a housewife and homemaker and a member of the Victory General Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.
She is survived by her husband, Lonzo Carroll of Leitchfield, one daughter, Patricia L. Howard of Louisville, one brother, Billy Matthews of Caneyville, two sisters, Frances Baldwin of Il, Joyce Casey of IN, and a half-sister Donna Probus of Leitchfield, two grandchildren, Christopher R. Russman (Julie) and Marsha L. Russman, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Funeral services wre at 11:00 a.m. E.S.T. Tuesday (September 2, 2008) at the Owen Funeral Home on Dixie HWY in Louisville, KY. The Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield is in charge of Local arrangements. Rev. Garrnett Tucker officiated. Burial was in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Washington, KY.
