Leon King, age 81, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (September 12, 2022) at the home of his daughter in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on February 18, 1941 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Cyrus and Henrietta Hawkins King.

He was a line worker who enjoyed vegetable gardening and going to flea markets and was a member of the New Freedom Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Rheaetta Belcher (Paul) of Millwood, KY, and Paula Cirillo (James) of Leitchfield; one granddaughter, Christina Vieira (Jon); and one great-granddaughter, Anders Faye Nicholson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nequetta Cook King; five brothers, Asa, David, Junior, James & Joseph King; and two sisters, Irene Clark & Cynthia Stice.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (September 20, 2022) at the New Freedom Church on Sadler Road. Bro. Neil Carnes will be officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and at the New Freedom Church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
