Obituary
Leonard Carnes, age 67, of Leitchfield, KY passed away Monday, (October 23, 2006) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born on June 3, 1939, in Grayson County, KY, the son of Irvin and Dolly Watson Carnes. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Leitchfield First General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Wells Carnes, three sons, Leonard Wayne (Jennifer), Neil (Ella) and Darrell Carnes all of Leitchfield, two step-sons, Greg Dennis and Ronnie Cockriel both of Leitchfield, two step-daughters, Charlotte Kerr of Clarkson, KY and Rita Strickland of Leitchfield, one sister, Donnie Jaggers of Mammoth Cave, KY, two half-sisters Thelma D. Smith of Scottsville, KY and Roberta Moore of Louisiana, 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Charles, Johnny and Mitchell Carnes and one sister, Edith Davis.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday (October 26, 2006) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Buddy Brooks and Bro. Bryan Matthews will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
