Leroy “Lee” Gordon. Fulkerson Jr., age 57, born October 13, 1968, was a loving husband, devoted dad, proud Pappy, and one of the hardest-working men you could ever know.

Lee spent 39 years by the side of his wife, Sheila, 35 of those years as husband and wife. Together they built a life, raised their two beautiful daughters, Ashley and Alexandria, and created a family that meant more to Lee than anything else in this world. Lee was a family man through and through.

He loved being a dad, but becoming Pappy brought another special kind of love into his life. He was a proud Pappy to his grandsons, Hurley Saltsman and Dexter Collard. He also carried a very special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Kolbie Rae Lynn Saltsman, who passed before him. Lee knew he wasn’t afraid of hard work. He spent most of his life working in construction and, in his later years, worked as a welder. Working hard and providing for his family was simply part of who Lee was. He was the kind of man who would rather be doing something with his hands than sitting still.

Lee enjoyed being outdoors, working around the house and spending time with the people he loved. He didn’t need anything fancy to be happy. For Lee, some of the best times were simply being home, being outside and having his family around him. He loved in his own way through hard work, providing, being there and taking care of his family. Those who knew him knew how much his family meant to him.

Later in life, Lee grew stronger in his Christian faith and developed a close relationship with God. That faith became especially meaningful to him and gave him peace and comfort in knowing where he was going when his time on this earth came to an end. Lee knew that when that time came, he would be going home to be with the Lord.

Lee is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Webb Fulkerson; his daughters, Ashley Collard (Eric) and Alexandria Fulkerson; his grandsons, Hurley Saltsman and Dexter Collard; his mother, Sarita Rogers; his sisters, Tonya Hall and Sherry Hunt; his brothers, Jeremy Fulkerson, Michael Hunt and Jason Hunt; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Fulkerson Sr., and his beloved granddaughter, Kolbie Rae Lynn Saltsman.

Lee’s life wasn’t measured by the things he had, but by the family he loved, the years of hard work he put in, the faith he found, and the memories he leaves behind. He was a husband, a dad, a Pappy, a son, a brother and a friend. And to the people who loved him most, there will simply never be another Lee.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, (September 24, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. James Miller will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
