Les Majors, 70, of New Albany, IN, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was born May 6, 1945, in Caneyville, KY, to the late Wilbur and Nina (Brooks) Majors.
He was a retired Navy veteran who loved golf, drag racing, collecting guns, skeet shooting and riding motorcycles. Les was a member of the Isaac Walton Conservation Club. He retired from Xerox Corporation after 30 years as a Service Technician. He later retired from the Kentucky State Police Post where he worked in the Maintenance Department.
Les is survived by daughter, Brooke Wepfer (Clay) of Cynthiana, KY; son, Clint Majors (Misty) of Sellersburg, IN; grandchildren, Madison, Isaac, Chloe and Ethan; sister, Wanda Majors (Sue) of Louisville, KY; nephew, Lenny Vowels; and niece, Whitney Boxley.
Friends may visit 4-8 PM, Friday, June 12, 2015, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, IN, and Saturday, 12-2 PM, at Dermitt Funeral Home, 306 W. Main Street, Leitchfield, KY. Private burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Caneyville, KY, where Military Services will be conducted.
