Lester Whobrey, age 78, of Concord, NC, (formerly of Leitchfield) passed away Saturday, (April 07, 2018) at his home.

He was born on March 14, 1940 in Edmonson County, KY, the son of the late Noah and Effie Lobb Whobrey.

He was the owner of Parkway Used Cars for over 30 years who enjoyed antique cars and attending car shows. He was saved in 1952 at Christian Home Baptist Church in Bee Spring, KY. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Leitchfield, KY and attended Pine Grove Baptist Church in Concord, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Whobrey of Concord, NC; son Eric Armes of Calhan, CO; daughters Teresa Beatty and Connie Elmore both of Leitchfield, KY and Lora Beth Miller of Concord, NC; grandchildren George, Kaitlyn, Katrina and Kira Armes, Andrew and Addie Miller, Cameron Elmore, Christopher Beatly, Krinda Heaton and Leslie Elmore; and brother Chet Whobrey of Bee Spring, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, (April 15, 2018) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Buddy Brooks and J.H. Manion will be officiating. Burial will be in Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
