Lewis Farris, age 72, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Friday, (April 17, 2015) in Louisville, KY.
He was born on May 16, 1942 in Anneta, KY, the son of the late James C. Farris and Anna Arrwood Farris.
He was retired from Bel Brands USA, working as a maintenance supervisor for twenty-one years. He was a mechanical engineer, and had received many certificates in various categories pertaining to his employment, and was a member of Operator Engineers Union # 181. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and being at home.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Hack Farris of Caneyville; daughter, Sierra Margaret Farris of Denver CO; sons, Donnie Farris and wife, Joan, of Caneyville, and Anthony Farris and wife, Sharon, of Radcliff; daughter, Monique Giroux of Denver, CO; five granddaughters, one grandson; five step- granddaughters, one step-grandson; one great-granddaughter, Paislyn; brother, Steve Farris of Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde, Revere, and Hobart Farris, and four sisters, Rose Bowers, Beulah Downs, Imogene Fair, and Hallie Ubanaski.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (April 21, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Davy Norris will be officiating. Burial will be in the Short Creek United Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
