Linda Gay Russell, age 68, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 21, 2023) in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on November 10, 1954 in Clarkson, KY, (but Pine Knob has always been home to her), the daughter of Wilma Dean Shain Carwile and the late Delmer Lewis Carwile.

She worked as an office assistant for PSC Fabricating in Louisville, was an accountant for Caneyville Drugs and also a tax preparer at H and R Block Tax Service. She was a member of the Grayson County Veteran's Resource Group. She enjoyed genealogy and had traced family history as far back as Scotland and also some members on the Mayflower.  She loved to crochet, read and collect eagles. Purple was her favorite color. She treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her mother, Wilma Dean Shain Carwile of Leitchfield; her children, Terry Dewayne Embry, Joshua Matthew Embry (Shelby Pollard) and Amanda Childress (Patrick) all of Leitchfield; grandchildren, Kourtney Michelle Goff, Patera Lynn Embry, Roger Lewis Williams, Kayla Marie Girts, Hannah Elizabeth Girts, Jacob Matthew Embry, Zachary Allen Embry, Colten Lewis Embry, Natalie Rae Lin Embry, Penny Lynn Childress, Douglas James May, Jr., John Henry Mitchell II, and Joshua Dewayne Eugene Mitchell; and great-grandchildren, Felicia, Michelle and Jayden.

Other than her father, Delmer Lewis Carwile, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Ross Russell and her brother, Roger Dale Carwile.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (January 25, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Deweese Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
