Obituary

Linden Dale Smith, age 78, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Saturday, (September 20, 2014) at his home.

He was born on December 30, 1935 in Elfie, KY, the son of the late George Washington and Lelia Via Patterson Smith.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a farmer who enjoyed riding his four wheeler and sawmilling. He was a member of the Operators Union Local 181 and was a member of the Oak Ridge General Baptist Church.

He is survived by three daughters; Kathy Lynn Cooper (Jimmy), Belinda Sue Henderson (Melton) and Kebra Renee Howe (Joe), five grandchildren; Jeremy Tildon Cooper (Sara), Sherri Lynn Kirby (Joey) Mallory Brooke Jenkins (Brian), Amanda Gail Alford (Jessie) and Kelsey Jo Howe, seven great-grandchildren; Trenton, Delaney, Kaitlyn, Jasmine, Jersy, Mason and Paisley and several nieces and nephews

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen on January 10, 2014, his daughter, Lora Ann Smith, a great-grandson, Tildon Connor Cooper, his brothers and sisters, Lawrence, Royce, Duward and Clarence Smith, Allean Bratcher, Georgia Geary, Nannie Bell Dewitt, Virgie Steff, Norma Lee Smith, Hettie L Smith and Laura A Smith.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (September 24, 2014) at the Oak Ridge General Baptist Church in Morgantown, KY. Bro. Jimmy Cushenberry and Bro. Jewel Martin will be officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Oak Ridge General Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
