Linnie Earl Tate, age 96, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (March 30, 2019) at Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield.

She was born on June 6, 1922 in Falls of Rough, KY, the daughter of the late Cliffie and Ida Beauchamp Tate.

She was a retired teacher and school librarian. She was in education for thirty-five years. Thirty-two of those years she was at Caneyville High School, and later at Grayson County High School after consolidation. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed sewing and traveling. She attended West Main Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her care-givers, Phyllis and Jeff Richardson of Big Clifty,  a host of beloved cousins, and her friend and care-taker, Sue Buckles.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jessie Tate.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Sam Dick will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
