Lisa Michelle York, age 60, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (June 24, 2026) at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.

She was born on November 21, 1965 in Elizabethtown, KY, the daughter of the late Howard and Sarah LaJune Meredith York.

She was a teacher who enjoyed running 5K’s and half-marathons & traveling with her son. She was a member of the Leitchfield United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Jarrod Decker (Kristen Swansegar) of Lexington; a sister, Pam; her step-mother, Rose Howard; and Jarrod’s father, Thomas Decker (Stanley Thiry) with whom she remained close. Her beloved dog, Sam, and grand-dog, Ryker, also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (July 3, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Pastor Jordan Hunter will be officiating.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. Friday until time of services.
