Obituary
Lloyd Mitchell Newton, age 89, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (August 8, 2016) in Caneyville, KY.
He was born on March 27, 1927 in Grayson Co., KY, the son of the late John and Lillie Vincent Newton.
He was a custodian for the Grayson County High School for 19 years and a farmer, who enjoyed flea markets, gospel singing and attended New Freedom Church where he once led the singing.
He is survived by one son, Carlos Newton (Diane) of Hudson KY, a daughter, Barbara Woolen (Grover) of Caneyville, KY, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren one sister, Nelma Decker of Leitchfield and several nieces and nephews also survives.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Alice Newton, five brothers, Carl, Elmer, Harlan, Ambrose, and Robert Newton, two sisters, Joyce Saltsman and Hallie Cockriel.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (August 10, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Ed Cockriel will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
