Luby Laverne Kerr, age 85, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (July 26, 2026) at her home surrounded by family.

She was born on September 25, 1940, in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Ernest Ruth and Edna Vincent Ruth.

She was formerly employed at Hobby House Restaurant and later worked as a line worker at MTD. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and participating in church activities. She treasured time spent with her family and found joy in collecting dolls and glassware. She was a member Church of God of Prophecy.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Kerr of Leitchfield; daughters, Kathy Daugherty (Rick) of Leitchfield and Susan Vincentz (David) of Mt. Washington; three grandchildren, Stephanie Ranee Rawlings, Thomas Daugherty (Ashley), and Sam Vincentz; five great-grandchildren, Brian Smith (Aly), Hope Smith (Ryan Newton), Chelsea Phillips, Christian Phillips McClure, and Aidan Daugherty; one brother, David Ruth (Charlotte); three sisters, Barbara McClure of Elizabethtown, Martina Childress (Chester) of Leitchfield and Brenda Hayes also of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Ruth and one sister, Arvaleen Daniel.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (August 1, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Rick Daugherty will be officiating. Burial will be in the Landis Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
