Obituary

My dear, sweet, loving mother, Lucille Lowe passed away June 30, 2013 after a sudden two month illness she could not overcome. She was born on April 14, 1923, and lived a wonderful and joy-filled life for 90 years. She is now so dearly missed.
In her early years, she was a school teacher at Claggett Elementary School, a one-room school house teaching grades 1 - 8 for many years. In the 60s & 70s, she was a frequent substitute teacher in Elizabethtown and Leitchfield public schools, and then began work as a teacher's aide, and finally in the Grayson County Middle School business office during her senior years. Besides teaching most of her life, for a time she was secretary for Judge Executive Earl Glenn for 6 years. But forever, she was a pillar of the First Baptist Church of Leitchfield, where she was a member, and attended worship services there all of her life. She loved all of the services, and especially her close friends, and especially all of the many kind folks who attended. She was also was active with the Leitchfield Woman's Club and the Grayson County Historical Society
She is survived by her son, David Lowe, of Lexington, KY, and granddaughter Kristin Lee Lowe, of Beaverton, OR. Visitation will be held on Friday night, July 5, 2013 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Dermitt Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at the First Baptist Church of Leitchfield, KY on Saturday at 1:00 pm. Brother George Smith will be conducting the services.
