Lynette VanMeter, age 58, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Thursday, (January 6, 2022) at Norton's Hospital in Louisville.

She was born on December 3, 1963 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of Arnett and Annell Carroll Saltsman.

She worked as a caregiver. Lynette dedicated her life to giving to others. She loved making people happy. She would do for others expecting nothing in return and no recognition for doing so. Her heart was huge, and her loving personality was even bigger. She was an example that others need to follow in always thinking of someone else. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. Lynette married the love of her life, Neil VanMeter, on April 21, 1990.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Neil VanMeter of Clarkson; parents, Arnett and Annell Saltsman; sister, Lanean Davis (Harvey) and brother, Terrel Saltsman (Bernice); four nieces, two nephews; four great-nieces, two great-nephews; and her mother-in-law, Vada (Mater) VanMeter.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas Wood Cockriel; maternal grandparents, Walton Carroll and Monrovia Wood Carroll; paternal grandparents, Henry and Dorothy Willis Saltsman; and father-in-law, Clinton VanMeter.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (January 14, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Edward Cockriel and Bro. Neil Carnes will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope/Sadler Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.

Please do not bring food or drinks in the building. Masks are required during the visitation and the funeral service.
