Obituary
Mabel Agnes Carter Pryor, age 82, of Leitchfield, KY passed away Thursday, (March 29, 2007) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
She was born on January 17, 1925, in Duff, KY, the daughter of Alex Lester and Jennie B. Dunn Carter. She was a housewife and a genealogist who researched and authored a book on the history of the Duff community and its founding families. She was a member of the Duff Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Doyle Ray Pryor, two daughters, Judy Escue of Hardinsburg and Marcia K. Pryor of Leitchfield, one brother, Roger Carter of Auburndale, Florida, six grandchildren, Scott Escue, Susan Hinton, Sherrie Clemons, Sarah Castleman, Beth Pryor and Clay Leveronne and one great grandchild, Dakota Keown. She was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Pryor, four sisters, Eunice Milam, Catherine Tilford, Edna Fentress and Ruby Humston and two brothers, Millard and Walter Carter.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday (April 1, 2007) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jeff Carter will be officiating. Burial will be in the Duff Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Sunday.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Duff Cemetery Fund.
