Obituary
Mallie Evelyn Freeman, age 85, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (May 18, 2011) in Lexington, KY.
She was born on April 30, 1926, in Hoskins, (Leslie County) KY, the daughter of the late Arnold and Dallie Fields Whitehead. She was retired from Crucible Steel, where she worked for 26 years and was a member of the Church of Joy in Leitchfield.
She is survived by two sons, James Edward Freeman (Danette) of Williamsburg, KY, and Hubert Edgar Freeman (Maureen) of Corbin, KY; one daughter, Linda Nugent (Bob) of Leitchfield; four brothers, Dellis Whitehead of Stinnett, KY, Lanzo, Hollis, and Arnold Whitehead all of Harlan, KY; one sister, Patricia Napier of Harlan; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one brother-in-law, Roy Wells of Batavia, Ohio. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Velva Dean Saltsman, and numerous other family members.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday (May 22, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Nathan Lowe will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
