Margaret Lee Embry, age 90, of Millwood, passed away, Thursday, July 5, 2018, peacefully at her home.

She was born April 7, 1928, in West Irvine, to Charlie and Maggie Chaney Stevens.

Margaret attended Irvine High School, graduating in 1946.

She completed Nurses Training at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, achieving her RN in 1951.

Margaret worked on polio wards in 1952 in Louisville. She was a devoted homemaker from 1955 until resuming her career at Aide Acres Nursing Home in 1970. She ended her career at Grayson County Health Department where she retired in 1990.

She was preceded in death her husband, Dr. A.L. Embry; her parents; three sisters, Bonnie Jenkins, Helen Witt and Loraine Crowe and a brother, Sonny Stevens.

Margaret is survived by two daughters, Candy Embry and Gay Skaggs; two sons, Charlie Embry and Jinks Embry; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Glenn Crowe and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will follow in the Vol Layman Cemetery in Millwood.

Visitation will begin after 12:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
