Margie A. Higgs, age 77, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Sunday, (August 20, 2023) at her home.

She was born on October 18, 1945 in Breckinridge County, KY, the daughter of the late Morris and Juanita Tucker Alexander.

She was employed by the state of Kentucky working in the department of

Employment and Unemployment. She enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends, working crossword puzzles, sewing, flowers, cooking, and her grand-cats. She loved spending time with and taking care of her family and grandchildren. She married her husband, Danny Higgs, on September 21, 1991. Earlier in her life she was a member of Harned United Methodist Church and later joined the Belmont General Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Higgs of Caneyville; children, Todd Pollock (Lisa) of Lexington, Tracey Kasey (Rusty) of McDaniels, and Dylan Higgs of Leitchfield; grandchildren, Alex and Lauren Pollock; and her uncle, Sonny Alexander.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Alexander.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. CST on Thursday, (August 24, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Gary Embry will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. CST on Thursday until time of services.
