Marion Farris Jr, age 92, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (September 11, 2020) at his home.

He was born on April 17, 1928 in Grayson County, Kentucky the son of the late Marion Sr. and Thelon Mae Basham Farris.

He was a farmer and a heavy equipment operator who enjoyed working with his mules and was a member of the New Freedom Church.

He is survived by his son, Bill Farris (Carletta) of Leitchfield; his daughter, Sue Whobrey of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Shannon Cates (Scott), Tonya Kessinger (Scott), John Farris, Kimberly Keys (Stephen) and Charlotte Whobrey; eight great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ailene Cummings, Maxine Richards, Lee Woosley and Diane Tilford. Several nieces and nephews and a host of close friends at Parkland West also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Wilkins Farris; and two brothers, Oval and John Farris.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, (September 16, 2020) at Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Mickey Coates and Bro. Buddy Brooks will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.
