Marvin Junior Childress, 61, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (May 12, 2016) at the VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY.

He was born on November 2, 1954, in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Martin and Maggie Webb Childress.

Marvin was a devoted dad and papaw. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved fishing and going to the beach. He also enjoyed golfing and being outdoors. He had such a loving, and caring way. He was always smiling and his laughter was contagious, which made him a joy to be around.

Marvin was in the Army for two years, he was an active member of the American Legion Post81. He was employed at American Standard for about ten years and later Campell Hausfeld, where he retired

He is survived by one daughter; Tynesha Kendrick, two sons, Michael Childress and Andrew Noe, a granddaughter, Kennedy Kendrick, all of Leitchfield; two nephews, Marty Joe and John Thomas Childress also of Leitchfield.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death two brothers Bentley and Shannon Childress.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, (May 18, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
