Obituary
Mary Alice Newton, age 82, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (August 25, 2011) at the Norton's Suburban Hospital in Louisville, KY.
She was born on July 9, 1929, in Grayson Co, KY, the daughter of Ish and Maude Langdon Saltsman. She was retired from the Grayson County School System and attended the New Freedom Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Newton, one son, Carlos Newton (Diana) of Hudson KY, one daughter, Barbara Woolen (Grover) of Olaton, KY, three brothers, Pete, James Ray and Nathan Saltsman all of Leitchfield, three sisters, Magaline Hester and Cora Mae Newton both of Leitchfield and Maxine Stinson of Anneta, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by Ed Jay and Elmer Saltsman.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday (August 29, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Ed Cockriel will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
