Mary Beatrice Carnes, age 73, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Tuesday, (May 30, 2023) at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.

She was born on May 23, 1950 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Leo and Alma Clemons Pierce.

She worked as a line worker for General Electric and as a seamstress for IMS Sewing Factory & enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Cletus Carnes of Clarkson; a daughter, Barbara Kay McDaniel;  one son, Steven Wayne Carnes; a step-son, Paul Wayne Carnes; two grandchildren, Dakota Logsdon, & Gabrielle Renfro; 1 great-grandson, Draco Travis; three brothers, Charlie, Gregory, & Anthony (Hope) Pierce; and two sisters, Wanda Higdon & Lorena Meredith. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Phillip Roger Carnes; a great-grandchild Dante Renfro; and six brothers and sisters, Walter, Janice, Joe Paul, Vinetta, Rosie & Joann.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, (June 09, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
