Mary Elizabeth Davis, age 90, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (November 7, 2024) at her residence in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on October 11, 1934 in Edmonson County, KY, the daughter of the late James "JT" and Bennie Woosley Duvall.

She was a seamstress, a bookkeeper and a farmer who enjoyed reading, knitting and raising sheep, sometimes bringing them back to the farm in the cabin of an airplane. An organic gardener, she raised orchids and African violets and had a special love of the azaleas that bloomed in Savannah, Georgia. She was a member of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her children, Nicole Thompson of Bowling Green, KY, James Lawrence "Larry" Davis (Barbara) of Leitchfield, Charles Davis of Restin, VA, Karen Gray (Dan) of Bowling Green, KY & Paul L. Davis of Radcliff; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a very special niece, Martha Jean Cruse and many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 70 years, James "Jim" Davis; her son, Michael Davis; and 12 brothers and sisters.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, (December 07, 2024) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield, with a meal to follow.

By her request, expressions of sympathy may take her the form of donations to the St. Jude Children's Cancer/ Wounded Warrior Foundation or the St. Joseph or St. John Catholic Church.
