Obituary
Mary Catherine Hodges, age 79, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (September 23, 2008) at her residence.
She was born on September 1, 1929, in Grayson County KY, the daughter of Herman and Mary Alverta Whitefield Dennis. She was a retired co-owner and operator of Hodges Grocery.
She is survived by two sons, Cecil (Kelly) and Roger Hodges both of Leitchfield, four daughters, Darlene Lyons (Bobby) and Dorothy Jacobs (Allen) both of Leitchfield, Judy Cantrell (David) of Somerset, KY and Brenda Avenetti (David) of Phoenix, AZ, two brothers, Henry of Leitchfield and Ervin Dennis of Enid, OK, two sisters, Margie Hazelwood and Anna Frances Portman both of Leitchfield, twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and a special friend, Matthew Barnes of Leitchfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Acie Hodges, two grandchildren, Ronnie Lyons and Brandy Hodges and one brother, Odell Dennis.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon Saturday (September 27, 2008) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Vester Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Claggett Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
