Mary Louise Hazelwood, age 70, of Duff, KY, passed away Thursday, (April 18, 2024) at her home.

She was born on August 24, 1953 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late Bethel and Gladys Newton Hazelwood.

She loaded trucks at Miller & Hartman until her retirement and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing games and spending time with family. Mary was a member of the Lone Star Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Barry Mercer Jr. (Lillian) and Jody Mercer, both of Rough River, Kandy Mercer of Duff, Michelle Pawley (Josh) of Leitchfield; a very close niece, Billie Bruno (William) of Leitchfield; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne McDonald (Patricia) of Bardstown & Bethel Hazelwood Jr. (Alicia) of Tausey; a sister, Judy Ann McDonald Norman (Johnny) of New Haven; and her beloved cat, Buddy. Several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Barry Mercer; her second husband, William "Bill" Pearson; and two grandchildren, Phillip & Raymond Vaughn.

Funeral services will be at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, (April 21, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Brian Gregory and Bro. Dean Beard will be officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Star Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
