Mary Frances Ballard Norris, age 83, of Clarkson, passed away Thursday, (August 13, 2026) at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on April 25, 1943, in Burkesville, KY, the daughter of the late Charlie Edward Ballard and Lorene Bryant Ballard.

She lived a simple life and was a devoted wife, mother and Memaw. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, watching hummingbirds, and feeding the birds.

She is survived by her son, Colby Dean Norris (Mona) of Bowling Green, KY; her daughter, Donna White (Joey) of Clarkson; two grandchildren Vanda Aubrey (Blake) of Clarkson and Nolan White (Hannah) of Whitesville; two step-grandchildren, Grant Phelps (Hannah) of LaGrange and Blake Phelps (Catherine) of Auckland, NZ; four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Kenley, Hollis, and Cade Aubrey; and three step-great-grandchildren, Fallon, Chloe and Myra Phelps. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie B. Norris Jr.; one son, Mark Allen Spears ;two brothers, Kermit Ballard and Larry Ballard; and one sister, Rheda Smith.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (August 16, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Her nephew, Anthony Smith, will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 11:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
