Mary L. Haycraft Saylor, age 81, of Louisville, KY, passed away Monday, (May 25, 2020) at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
She was born on June 25, 1938 in Indiana, the daughter of the late Earl and Margaret Duke Matthews.
She was a home-maker, with a life-long love of fishing, sewing and gardening. She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing for her family, friends and neighbors for over 70 years. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, and Seek and Find puzzles. She loved the Lord dearly and was a devoted follower of Jesus. She had attended the Anneta United Baptist Church and worshipped at many Baptist churches throughout Louisville.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Saylor of Louisville; son, Rick Haycraft and his wife, Debra of Louisville; four brothers, Allen (Penny), Jimmy, Franklin and Ray Matthews; three grandchildren, Angela (Mike) Walden and their children, Tahlia and Zyan, Valerie (Matt) Mayes and their children, Aubree, Brock and Waylon, and Christina (Sean ) Taylor and their children, Bradyn, Colt and Nolen. Many dear cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bert Haycraft and her brother, Bobby Matthews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM CST Friday, (May 29, 2020) at the Anneta United Baptist Church. Bro. Kenny Decker will be officiating, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Anneta United Baptist Church from 10:00 PM CST on Friday until time of services.
The KY Covid-19 guidelines state that during the visitation and service a limited number of people can be in the church at one time. This may require some people to wait in line. We will be taking the temperature of visitors also with a touchless thermometer. A mask is suggested to also be worn.
