Obituary
Maurice L. Smiley, age 72, of Breckinridge County, KY, passed away Monday (June 18, 2007) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born on December 2, 1934, in Breckinridge County, KY, the son of Delphus Bond and Evelyn Dourty Smiley. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict a member of the American Legion Post #81 and retired Tool & Die maker at the Leggett & Platt Company in Leitchfield.
He is survived by five sons, James Dale Smiley of Leitchfield, Neal (Teresa) Smiley, Norman (Teresa G.) Smiley, David and John Smiley all of Breckinridge County, one daughter, Angela (Matt) Parks of Breckinridge, four brothers, Estil, ID, and Leroy Smiley all of Breckinridge County, Calvin Smiley of Louisville, one sister, Elaine Limer of Breckinridge, Nine grandchildren and One great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his parents, one daughter, Kathy Horton and one sister, Alma Mattingly.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (June 20, 2007) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Phil Smiley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Calvert Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday (June 19, 2007)
