Obituary
May Irene Beatty Pettrey, 91 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 24, 2009) at the Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab Center.
She was born December 31, 1917, in Grayson County KY, the daughter of the late Shady and Annie Pruitt Beatty. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Leitchfield. She was also the widow of Clayburn Pettrey,Sr.
She is survived by two sons: Roger Pettrey of Leitchfield and Gary Pettrey of Caneyville; one daughter: Shirley Silcox of Memphis, TN; one brother Cecil Beatty and one sister Aline Snyder, both of Millwood, KY; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Clayburn Pettrey, Jr; and her brothers: Roy, Russell, Stanley, and Raymond Beatty.
Funeral services will be held at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield on Tuesday, Jan. 27th at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Lonnie McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 11:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 until 9:00 p.m.
