Obituary

Mayburn Belcher, age 83, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (August 7, 2013) at his residence.

He was born on May 31, 1930 in Homer, KY, the son of the late Claird and Myrtle Lee Belcher.

He was a U.S. Marine veteran, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He enjoyed the company of his beloved cat, Rachael. He was retired from General Electric, where he was a forklift operator on the assembly line for 33 years. He was a member of American Legion Post # 81, and the Grayson County Sportsman Fish and Wildlife Club. He was a member of Potter's Hope Ministries.

He is survived by three sons, Benny Belcher and wife Marietta of Lexington, Blain Belcher of Leitchfield, and Bruce Belcher and wife Rosemary of South; one brother, Larry Gene Belcher of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Billy Joe, Stuart, Brianna, Lydia Belcher, and Brittany Deatherage; and three great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Cicily Deatherage, and Savannah Belcher.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Jo Belcher.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, (August 10, 2013) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery in Logan County.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
