Mayme Dyer Staples, age 97, of Rineyville, KY, passed from this world to her heavenly home Friday, (September 15, 2023).

She retired from Twin Lakes Regional Medical Hospital X-Ray Department where she volunteered and was then hired to be a Mammography Clerk.

She loved to meet people and never met a stranger. Even if you didn't want a hug you got one from her and she would tell you: "I love you but God loves you more." Her infectious smile and charismatic personality made her quite the social butterfly.

She attended Clearview Baptist Church in Leitchfield and for the last 9 years attended Antioch Baptist in Rineyville and was a Christian. She loved her husband, Leroy, being married to him 68 years before he passed in 2011. She missed him greatly and longed to reunite with him in Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ados B and Ruby Hampton Dyer; her husband, Leroy Staples; one infant sister, Roxy; two brothers, Waymond and Fred Dyer; and twin grandchildren.

Left to honor her memory are her two daughters, SueAnne Brooks (Tom) of Rineyville & Marla Gail Storm (Russell) of Huntingburg, IN; three grandchildren, April Pottinger More (Mark) of Andover, MN, Taylor Storm (Carrie) of Huntingburg, IN, & Hayley Storm Vaal (Josh) of Jasper, IN; seven great-grandchildren, Carrissa, Sam, Amber & Ashlee More, Carter & Easton Vaal & Miley Storm; and a sister, Hazel Dyer Curtis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. (CST) Friday, (September 22, 2023) at the Clearview Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Bro. Chester Shartzer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery in Tompkinsville, KY.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and at Clearview Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
