Melanie Gayle Winchester, age 67, of Leitchfield, KY passed away Sunday, (December 1, 2024) at her home surrounded by family.

She was born on June 16, 1957 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late Paul and Shirley Johnson Winchester.

She was a nurse aide who enjoyed watching TV, praise and worship, spending time with family and her dog, going to church and she really loved her recliner. She was a member of the Kingdom First Worship Center.

She is survived by her two daughters, Christy McAllister and Tina Carroll (Doug) both of Leitchfield; a special granddaughter, Karley Carroll; brothers, Sam Winchester (Sherri) of Missouri and Doug Winchester (Deb) of Bardstown; sisters, Ruby Bigelow (Joe) of Shelbyville and Kaye Cottrell (Glenn) of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (December 7, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Christopher Edwards will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
