Obituary
Melvin C. Heady, age 80, of Falls of Rough, KY, passed away Thursday, (May 7, 2015) in Louisville, KY.
He was born on April 13, 1935, in Butler County, KY, the son of the late Franklin and Isabelle Foreman Heady.
He worked at GE in Owensboro, and retired as a maintenance director for the Grayson County School system. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, retiring after 22 years of service. He was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion Post # 81, and a member of the VFW in Falls of Rough. He enjoyed fishing, doing repair work, gardening, calling BINGO, and his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carolyn Stewart Heady of Falls of Rough; three daughters, Teresa Parks of Falls of Rough, Mary Lou Radcliff, and Sandy Behlmonn Connor both of St. Louis, MO; two sons, Charles Heady (Kim) of Snap, Edward Heady (Erika) of Louisville; twenty one grandchildren, and twenty three great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Heady, Jr., six sisters, and four brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. CST Monday, (May 11, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Mike Cannon and Steve Mahurin will be officiating. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff KY, on Tuesday.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
