Obituary
Mildred Thomas McDowell, age 64, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (July 4, 2009) at her residence.
She was born on April 22, 1945, in Grayson Co, KY, the daughter of Thomas Anderson and Essie Carwile Tomes. She was a housewife and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Mount St. Joseph Ursaline Association and was a Kentucky Colonel.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey McDowell (Tona Lindsey) of Leitchfield, KY, one sister, Nancy Butler (Raymond) of Caneyville, KY, two brothers, Howard Sonny Tomes (Rita) of Leitchfield and Roger Tomes (Lois) of Clarkson, KY, four grandchildren, Feona, Krista and Tonya McDowell and Kayla Gibson, two great grandchildren, Westin Gibson and Abiella Pierce. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boze McDowell.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. (July 7, 2009) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield. Rev. Randy Howard will be officiating. Burial will be in the Clarkson Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the church.
The Prayers will be Monday night at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
